MEET THE ARTIST
My name is Lizzie Knox!
I was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. I am a 2024 graduate from East Carolina University. Here’s a little about me and my journey as an artist and graphic designer.
Growing up, I was always into art and design; however, my true passion was always basketball. After being a year-round athlete for 11 years, my dream was to play at the next level. I was blessed with the opportunity to have the option to play collegiate basketball. However, after a lot of thought, I decided against it and made the decision to hang up my jersey for good.
It’s funny how, at eighteen years old, I thought this decision would leave me with a lifetime of regret; instead, it ended up leading me into what can only be described as the best years of my life. I put down the basketball, packed my bags, and drove to the beautiful city of Greenville, North Carolina, where I attended East Carolina University. This little college town quickly became home to me, and I couldn't wait to officially be a Pirate. ARGHH!
Upon my arrival at East Carolina, I set out to join Greek life with the intent to become more involved on campus. I found my home away from home within the chapter of Chi Omega. I was eager to find a sisterhood to fill the void of losing the feeling of being a part of a team that basketball had always given me. During my four years as a member, I made sure to take advantage of every opportunity and tool that was offered to me. I received an infinite amount of skills and knowledge in learning the importance of networking, attended resume and career workshops, gained experience in event planning, applied collaborative and creative thinking skills daily, became a leader as well as a team player, learned the gravity of deadlines and being on time, how to carry myself with dignity, and the gift of true friendship.
During my first four years at East Carolina, I worked towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in graphic design. Through a diverse range of courses that the Art school offers, I had the privilege to dive deeper into various mediums of art, expressing myself through photography, graphic design, video editing and film, UX and UI design, drawing, painting, social media, sculpting, and more. After four years of passionate exploration within the arts, I decided that I wanted to dive deeper into the business and marketing side of things. In the fall of 2023, I began working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. Officially graduating in the spring of 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a concentration in media studies, as well as earned a minor in art.
Proficient in the Adobe Creative Cloud, I leverage my knowledge across these disciplines to infuse creativity into every project. From crafting visually stunning designs to strategizing marketing campaigns, I embrace the challenge of blending artistry with functionality. My skills extend beyond the realms of design, encompassing social media, marketing, effective communication, and a keen eye for detail. As I step into the business world, I am enthusiastic about finding opportunities where I can apply my diverse skill set and continue learning from my peers. I thrive in collaborative environments and am known for being a team player. My goal is to contribute to impactful projects, utilizing my graphic design expertise, and social media knowledge to devise and implement innovative marketing campaigns.
Beyond the world of design and marketing, I find joy in painting, fashion, traveling the world, and cooking. My love for fashion and interior design has been a constant muse, fueling the artist within me and influencing the essence of my projects. If you would like to connect with me, you can find all of my information under the “CONTACT” option located above. Let's create something extraordinary together!
